TONG goes to see a government official named LOK PING-CHEUNG, hoping that he will offer CHUNG a deal associated with the royal government. CHEUNG agrees to TONG’s request. TONG sends PANG and HAU away from Hangzhou and asks CHI to look after CHUNG all through the delivery trip. PANG tries to get HAU on his side along their way to Suzhou. FUNG and her parents move back to their hometown, where they make their living by farming. She misses CHI terribly and has been looking forward to his letters.
